Warding and Ritual Safety
When creating and running rituals, ritualists have a responsibility to account for the emotional, mental, and magical safety of their participants. Rituals can be made “safer” when there are plans in place to account for issues that may arise, and team members assigned the responsibility of tending the priests, participants, physical space, and the gods and spirits involved. In this workshop, we will discuss warding techniques and ritual safety plans, and practice some of these techniques. Watching the YouTube recording of last year’s Warding panel is recommended but not required.

Familiar's Death: Celebrating Fur, Feather, & Scale
Americans love their pets but many Pagans have a deeper connection with certain animals that we often call “familiars”. The death of any fur/feather/scale friend is difficult, but losing a familiar is doubly difficult. This ritual is an opportunity to say goodbye to that special animal and reaffirm the connection between you. Although this ritual is focused on animals who crossed over in the last year, any animal (familiar or not) can be honored. Optionally, bring a photo or object you associate with your animal. Exorcism in the Ancient World
The existence of spirits was probably universally accepted throughout the ancient world. These spirits populated the heavens, underworld, and earth. Some were good and others, evil. Consequently, religious and spiritual techniques were developed to protect against the influence of evil spirits. Egyptians and Babylonians believed that various diseases and misfortunes were caused by evil spirits necessitating banishing through amulets and incantations. “Possession” refers to evil spirits entering into a person and would often require an exorcism – a ceremony for driving out those spirits by appealing to higher powers.

Magick in America: 1820-1952
Despite what you’ve been told, America has long been a hotbed for magic and the occult. Men, Women, Gods and Sex: Love and Passion in the Biblical World
Sexuality was often a spiritual celebration shared by gods and mortals. Things that go Bump in the Night (and what to do about them)
The past several years have seen the proliferation of TV programs devoted to "ghosthunting" (17 by my last count!), but people have been investigating ghosts and hauntings for a lot longer than that. This presentation is on the various types of entities that can result in "hauntings" (and what you can do about them) based on 38 years as a professional investigator and "cleaner" of haunted houses and related places. I bring a Wiccan perspective to the topic and illustrate it with tales of personal encounters. (This presentation is an update of one from PantheaCon 2011.)
